I wouldn't worry about any new $1000-12/1300.00 camera from Nikon being even close to the D300, maybe down the road??..That's all a bunch wishful thinking out there. The D700 is $1300.00 more then the D300 so I wouldn't feel bad for one ...

http://www.tuttodigitale.it Eccola qui, in prova nei laboratori di Tutto Digitale, la nuova reflex professionale di Nikon, la D700, insieme all'obiettivo zoom AF-S NIKKOR 24-120 mm 3.5-56 VR. La camera monta un sensore CMOS a pieno formato da 12.1 MP, lo stesso impiegato nella D3. Il corpo invece è poco più grande di quello della D300. La camera può montare obiettivi con innesto F-Mount ed è compatibile - a differenza delle pieno formato di marchi concorrenti - anche con le ottiche DX, progettate per le reflex con sensore più piccolo: in questo caso, il CMOS verrà utilizzato solo parzialmente, come se fosse un sensore di dimensioni ridotte. Impugnare la D700 è una bella esperienza: il look e il peso sono quelli di una macchina professionale; il corpo solido e dalla presa confortevole trasmette un ottimo feeling in termini di robustezza e di affidabilità. Un gran numero di pulsanti affolla il corpo ed impone all'utilizzatore un po' di pratica per memorizzare tutte le posizioni. Veramente ricco il menu, che offre possibilità molto variegate, dallo scatto ad intervalli fino al salvataggio di set di impostazioni personalizzate. La camera dispone di convertitore A/D a 14 bit: per quanto riguarda la rapidità operativa, Nikon dichiara un ritardo di scatto di appena 40 millisecondi, mentre lo scatto in sequenza si attesta sui 5 fps la D700 permette inoltre il controllo tramite Live View direttamente dal display LCD che misura 3 pollici ed ha una risoluzione pari a 920.000 pixel, la più alta attualmente sul mercato per questo genere di fotocamere. Il flash pop-up, non presente sui corpi professionali, è un accessorio gradito, utile in caso di assenza di un flash esterno. Le prestazioni sono da vera ammiraglia, ma per ottenere il massimo serve uno studio approfondito dell'apparecchio, oltre ad una consolidata conoscenza della fotografia.
